Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Friday that China is ready to strengthen collaboration with Bahrain on multilateral platforms.
President Xi made the remarks when meeting with Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Xi pointed out that China supports Bahrain in its efforts of safeguarding national sovereignty, security and stability, and appreciates Bahrain's long-term support for China on issues concerning China's core interests.
He said China is willing to strengthen the development of strategic synergy with Bahrain, participate in Bahrain's economic development projects, enhance healthcare cooperation and promote Chinese language education in Bahrain.
He also expressed China's willingness to work with Bahrain to push for greater development of China-Arab ties and relations between China and the states of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
China congratulates Bahrain on becoming a dialogue partner of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Xi said, adding the Chinese side is ready to strengthen communication and collaboration with Bahrain on multilateral platforms.
King Hamad said Bahrain regards China as an important strategic partner and Bahrain's young people love and aspire to go to China, believing the future lies in China.
He underscored there is no limit to cooperation between the two countries, and he hopes to deepen cooperation with China in fields including trade, economy, infrastructure and healthcare.
