Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Alexey Miller, CEO of Russian energy giant Gazprom, in Istanbul on Friday, according to the Turkish presidency.
Gazprom said in a statement that Erdogan and Miller discussed the prospects for a Turkish gas hub, as well as Russian gas supplies to Türkiye.
Russian President Vladimir Putin in October proposed creating a gas base in Türkiye as a means of redirecting supplies to the European market, an idea that Erdogan has supported.
