Jimmy Lai Chee-ying, an instigator of Hong Kong riots, was sentenced to five years and nine months in prison and fined HK$2 million (US$256,848) on Saturday over fraud.
A District Court in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) also banned him from managing companies for eight years and ordered him to pay the fine in three months.
