Retailers welcome holiday season rebound as Guangzhou hands out consumption vouchers
02:33

The southern Chinese city of Guangzhou is handing out $4.3 million worth of shopping vouchers to boost consumption. The stimulus came a day after China announced more relaxations to its COVID-19 rules. Negative PCR test results and health status apps are no longer required by the government for most public venues. Brick-and-mortar retailers, eager for a holiday season rebound, are turning to generous discounts, free parking and interactive technologies to draw customers.
