Started in 2008, thanks to the joint efforts of China and Egypt, the China-Egypt Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone now has five major industrial parks in various fields of manufacturing: petroleum industry equipment, high and low-voltage electrical appliances, textiles and garments, new construction materials and farm machinery.

The Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone is now the best industrial park in Egypt in terms of all-round environment, investment density, and per unit output. In short, it's become an economic engine in the heart of Egypt's desert.
