China's National Medical Products Administration on December 11 granted market approval to a new COVID-19 rapid antigen test (RAT) kit. So far China has approved 40 COVID-19 RAT kits to meet growing public demand. The country has recently started lifting its COVID-19 restriction measures, while shifting from mass polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests to voluntary home antigen tests by individuals.
