China is ready to strengthen strategic communications with the Republic of Korea (ROK), Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Monday during a video meeting with Foreign Minister of the ROK Park Jin.

With a focus on win-win cooperation, China is willing to promote the sound and stable development of bilateral relations, ensure the safety and smooth operations of industrial and supply chains, safeguard the international free trade system and strengthen coordination and cooperation on regional and global issues, said Wang, also a a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.

Noting that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the ROK, Wang said China is ready to work with the ROK to advance bilateral relations to ensure the long-term stability of their ties.

China is committed to its fundamental national policy of opening to the outside world and pursues a mutually beneficial strategy of opening-up, which will bring new opportunities for the development of China-ROK relations, he added.

Park said that the ROK looks forward to China's continued prosperous development and is willing to work together to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen high-level exchanges and communication, deepen economic and trade cooperation and promote people-to-people exchanges so that to push bilateral relations to a higher level.
