Spectacular sea of clouds blankets mountains in NW China's Xinjiang

The Alatao Mountain has been buried in a sea of clouds in Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. A sea of clouds is a common phenomenon in high-pressure areas in cooler seasons. Sitting at the border with Kazakhstan, the Alatao Mountain stretches more than 200 kilometers with an altitude of 4,033 meters. It's part of the Tianshan Mountains range and is about 60 kilometers north of Bole City.
