Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto said in an address to the senate on Tuesday that arms shipments to Ukraine will end when peace talks to end the conflict begin.
"I am aware that military aid will have to end sooner or later, and it will end when we have the peace talks that we are all hoping for," Crosetto said.
Earlier this month, Italy's cabinet adopted a decree that allows it to continue supplying weapons to Ukraine throughout 2023 without seeking formal approval from parliament for each new shipment.
