Yariv Levin, a member of Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud Party, has been elected as the speaker of the Knesset (parliament), officially replacing Mickey Levy of the centrist Yesh Atid Party, who served in the position for approximately a year and a half, The Jerusalem Post reported on Tuesday.
The appointment may be temporary, as Levin is a candidate for justice minister and the jobs in the Likud party have not been finalized yet, the report added.
