China's COVID-19 fight in numbers: China remains low rate on confirmed cases

The confirmed cases per 100,000 in China was 1/44 of those in the U.S. The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide exceeded 646 million as of December 14, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). The confirmed cases per 100,000 population globally reached 8,291. China's rate was 677, well below the global average, while the U.S. rate of 29,629 tripled the average.
