Final results showed Fiji's general election deadlocked Sunday, with neither incumbent Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama nor his political rival Sitiveni Rabuka expected to achieve a majority in Parliament.
The People's Alliance Party (PAP) and the National Federation Party (NFP) coalition has won a combined 44.71 percent while ruling Fiji First got 42.55 percent of the votes.
Both sides are now negotiating with the Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) to form a coalition.
The Fiji elections this year are scheduled to elect the 55 members of the Fijian parliament.
