The 4th Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF) kicked off on Sunday in the island province of Hainan. It's also the first international film festival held in China since the optimized COVID-19 response measures have been implemented across the country. Filmmakers, actors and directors from different countries attended the opening ceremony. Nearly 30 films from 26 countries have been selected for this year's main competition. There will also be industry forums, masterclasses and public screenings from December 18 to 25.
