M6.4 earthquake strikes N California region: USGS

A magnitude-6.4 earthquake struck the northern California region in the U.S. on Tuesday at a depth of 16.1 kilometers, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake hit 40 kilometers southwest of the port city of Eureka, the USGS said, adding that a tsunami is not expected.
