At least five people were shot and killed in a condo in Vaughan, a Toronto suburb and the 73-year-old gunman was killed by police, authorities said.
The police said the alleged perpetrator of the murders died in a confrontation with the security forces.
One person shot by the suspect was in the hospital and expected to survive, said the police chief.
