Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a tweet on Wednesday that he is on his way to the United States.
"On my way to the U.S. to strengthen resilience and defense capabilities of Ukraine. In particular, President Joe Biden and I will discuss cooperation between Ukraine and the United States. I will also have a speech at the Congress and a number of bilateral meetings," Zelenskyy said.
The White House confirmed in a statement that Biden will welcome Zelenskyy at the White House, "after which President Zelenskyy will address a joint session of Congress, demonstrating the strong, bipartisan support for Ukraine."
"During the visit, President Biden will announce a significant new package of security assistance to help Ukraine defend itself," the White House added.
