The first phase of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line in Nigeria was completed on Wednesday by a Chinese company. It is the first electric-powered light rail in West Africa. The completed tracks of the LRMT Blue Line project span 13 kilometers in the first phase and cover five stations. The first phase is expected to carry over 250,000 passengers daily when in full operation.
