In the cold winter, Taerqi River in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region becomes an ice-free river. The area is rich in geothermal energy, and the river that flows through it does not freeze even in severe winter temperatures of nearly minus 30 degrees Celsius, giving rise to this extraordinary landscape.
