China's efforts in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic have not only protected the safety of its people but made a great contribution to scientific research in the field of epidemiology, said a Russian epidemiologist.
Vadim Pokrovsky, head of the AIDS Center at the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing, said the quarantine measures taken by China in the previous three years played a key role in containing virus spread while improving herd immunity.
