On the Winter Solstice, the Greater Hinggan Mountains were painted white. Near the Chuoer River hot spring in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, however, misty vapor swirls about the running water and the banks are blanketed with frost. In the water, fish swim among the verdant weeds as if in summer.
