After a COVID resurge, an economic rebound?

Editor's Note: As China relaxes its COVID-19 restrictions after three years, Albert Keidel, development economist specializing in East Asia at the George Washington University, is optimistic the Chinese economy will rebound due to its inherent strengths, such as investments, infrastructure work and financial improvements conducted by the government. He is also confident there will be a "huge uptick" in travels. Liu Xia, founder and CEO, Cloudhands Group, says some sectors are already bouncing back, such as education. In the medium term, she anticipates strategic industries like the digital economy and renewable energy will also do so with government support.
