Four civilians were injured in a blast that rocked Taluqan city, capital of northern Takhar province on Wednesday, provincial police spokesman Abdul Mubin Safi said.

"It was a mine blast and injured four civilians," Safi told Xinhua.

Without providing more details, the official added that an investigation had been initiated into the incident.

Earlier, local media outlet the TOLOnews reported that the blast took place next to a private health center named Qataghan hospital, injuring three people.
