Xu Haican is a kung fu practitioner at the Quanzhou Shaolin Temple in Fujian. The 12-year-old boy is now an expert with the sword, the nine-section chain whip, and the monkey stick after just two years of training. Xu said these weapons give him both confidence and discipline, as he must wield them safely in practice. The young Shaolin master said he hopes to learn more from his masters and carry forward the Chinese martial art.
