China's economic output for the year 2022 is expected to exceed 120 trillion yuan (about $17.21 trillion), demonstrating the economy's resilience and bringing much-needed certainty and vitality to the world faced with unprecedented challenges amid COVID-19 disruptions and geopolitical tensions.

China's grain output totaled about 686.53 billion kilograms this year, up 0.5 percent or 3.68 billion kg over 2021, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed in December. This is the eighth consecutive year for China to register a grain harvest of over 650 billion kg.
