Chinese musician Xiao He composed a song called "Independence Song," based on the characteristics of African music. It was later rewritten as "This Is Our Well Beloved Motherland" and became the national anthem of Guinea-Bissau. Guinea-Bissau's ambassador to China says the existence of the song is a testimony of the long-standing friendship between the two countries.
