At least 5 killed in separate factory fires in western India state

Two persons were killed and 17 others injured in a fire at a chemical company in Maharashtra's Nashik district in western India on Sunday, officials said.

The fire occurred after a blast at around 11.30 a.m. at the chemical company.

Meanwhile, at least three persons were killed and four others injured in another fire that broke out after a blast at a firecracker factory in Solapur district in the same state on Sunday, police said.

The second blaze occurred around 3 p.m., an official said.
