In a recent survey conducted by CGTN Think Tank and the Chinese Institute of Public Opinion at Renmin University of China, 56.2 percent of global respondents think China has played a crucial role in the global fight against COVID-19 and said they were impressed by China's move to donate vaccines and other anti-epidemic materials to other countries. This view is shared by 71.36 percent of respondents from Africa.

The survey covers 41 countries and regions around the globe. It shows that 51.4 percent of the respondents believe that countries with leading comprehensive national strength should undertake international responsibilities commensurate with their national strength and said China has done a good job in this regard. Also, 66.6 percent of young global respondents said they expect China to play a bigger role in global governance.

Since the COVID-19 outbreak, China has been working hard to make COVID-19 vaccines a global public good, and it continuously offers vaccine aid to less developed countries.

As of May 2022, China has donated $100 million to COVAX to distribute vaccines to developing countries.

The country also sent medical expert groups to 34 countries and shared its experience in epidemic response with more than 180 countries and international organizations.

China has so far provided anti-epidemic materials to 153 countries and 15 international organizations, including 2.2 billion doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Other measures include $2 billion from China in international aid to help developing countries respond to the impact of COVID-19.
