Former Philippine official: President's trip will boost ties with China

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has begun a three-day state visit to China. He will hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. President Marcos said his visit seeks to foster meaningful relations and broaden cooperation with China in various areas, such as agriculture, infrastructure, energy and people-to-people exchanges. Martin Andanar, the former press secretary and presidential spokesman of former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, said President Marcos Jr.'s trip will contribute more to future relations with China.
