China optimizes travel regulations between mainland and Hong Kong, Macao

China will optimize travel regulations between the mainland and Hong Kong and Macao on January 8. Travelers from Hong Kong will need a negative result from a COVID-19 nucleic acid test within 48 hours prior to departure, and they will not need to take a second nucleic acid test after arrival. Travelers from Macao will not need to take a test if they have not traveled overseas for seven days prior to their trip to the mainland.
