Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and Macao SAR announced their revised regulations on travel between the mainland and the two regions on Thursday. Starting from January 8, the first phase of customs clearance will allow up to 60,000 travelers a day to enter the mainland through land, sea and air ports, and mainland residents returning home through the ports will not take up the quota. Meanwhile, starting from January 8, travelers arriving in the Macao SAR from the mainland, the HKSAR and Taiwan region are not required to show any COVID-19 test result, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Center of the Macao SAR announced on January 5.
