The Broken Bridge gets its name from the fact that on snowy winter days it looks like it's broken. It is one of the 10 most famous scenic spots on the West Lake in Hangzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province.
Originally built in the Tang Dynasty (618–907), it is located at the east end of the Bai Causeway of the lake. The existing Broken Bridge was reconstructed in 1941 and then renovated in the 1950s. Being the watershed between the North Lake and the Outer West Lake, it's the most famous of the many bridges on the West Lake. Join CGTN to enjoy the splendid winter scenery!
