Even with a cooling U.S. economy, inflation will likely remain elevated. Energy disruptions in Europe will also make it a challenge for the European Central Bank to tame higher prices. China, on the other hand, offers a relatively bright spot. World Bank economist Sebastian Eckardt believes that China's recovery at this time could be part of the solution to easing inflationary pressures in the global economy.
