Headed by Ali Rashid Al-Nuaimi, PhD, chairman of the World Muslim Communities Council, more than 30 Islamic leaders and scholars from 14 countries wrapped up their four-day visit to northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on January 11. Xinjiang's efforts in countering violent extremism and preserving religious culture were high on the delegation's agenda.
