At least nine people have been killed in Alabama after a powerful storm system generated tornadoes and swept through Alabama and Georgia, according to the Autauga County Emergency Management Agency. The southeastern United States was under alert for severe storms as dozens of tornadoes were reported, with one causing widespread damage to the Alabama city of Selma.
