China take women's, mixed doubles titles at Malaysia Open

Chinese shuttlers took the women's doubles and mixed doubles titles at the 2023 Malaysia Open on Sunday.

Women's doubles pair Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan outmatched South Korea's Baek Ha-na and Lee Yu-lim 21-16, 21-10 to clinch the title.

Mixed doubles duo Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong defeated Japan's Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Higashino 21-19, 21-11 to defend their title.

In the men's doubles final, China's Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang lost to Indonesia's Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto 21-18, 18-21, 21-13.

In the singles' competition, Viktor Axelsen of Denmark delivered a crushing 21-6, 21-15 defeat to Japan's Kodai Naraoka to win the men's title, and Akane Yamaguchi of Japan defeated South Korea's An Se-young 12-21, 21-19, 21-11 to win the women's.
