The Work Safety Committee of China's State Council has issued a notice of strict supervision to the People's Government of Jiangxi Province for the major traffic accident that killed 19 people and injured 20 in Nanchang County on January 8.

The notice asked the provincial government to organize an investigation into the cause of the accident in an urgent manner in accordance to relevant laws and regulations. 

The injured were taken to hospital immediately after the accident.
