Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, held telephone conversations with his Belarusian counterpart Viktor Khrenin and discussed implementation of strategic deterrence measures and progress in the preparation of the regional grouping of troops, Russian defense ministry said Thursday.
The two countries have launched a series of air-force exercises since Monday along the border with Ukraine in an effort to boost cooperation.
