Xi greets workers at outlying oilfield ahead of Spring Festival

President Xi Jinping on Wednesday extended festive greetings to workers at an outlying oilfield via video link ahead of the Spring Festival. The Tarim Oilfield in the Taklimakan Desert in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is the main source of gas for China's West-East Gas Pipeline. Xi said the workers have contributed greatly to the country's oil and gas exploration and production and that their contributions are indispensable.
