Electricity has been partially restored to several areas of Pakistan, including Islamabad and Peshawar, the Pakistani Energy Ministry said on Monday, after massive power outages affecting millions of residents.

A countrywide power breakdown, triggered by a "frequency variation" in the national grid early Monday morning, has left large parts of the country including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Quetta without electricity, Geo News earlier reported.
