China sees 29 million passenger trips on 18th day of Spring Festival travel rush

China's public transport system handled over 29 million passenger trips on the third day of the Year of the Rabbit and the 18th day of the ongoing Spring Festival travel rush. It rose by 67.3 percent from the same day last year and decreased by 43.4 percent compared to 2019. The number of passenger cars stood at 45.742 million, a year-on-year increase of 39.7 percent and an increase of 9.7 percent over the same period in 2019. China's Spring Festival travel rush, the largest annual human migration worldwide, started on January 7 and lasts 40 days.
