Residents in Japan's Tokyo voiced their strong opposition on Tuesday toward the government's test of reusing the nuclear-contaminated soil from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, part of which will be landfilled in Tokyo's Shinjuku Gyoen Park in the Shinjuku district. The Japanese Ministry of Environment held an explanation session on January 21 for residents living in the district, but with limited attendance of less than 30 and undisclosed information. The Environment Ministry's non-transparent doings have stirred opposition from the residents.
