Thousands of Sri Lankan households are experiencing an improved quality of life from electricity provided by a coal power plant financed and built by China. The Norochcholai Coal Power Plant generates around 40 percent of Sri Lanka's total electricity. It can meet about 60 percent of demand nationwide during the dry season.
