Different colorful folk activities were held in east and south China to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Decorated with red lanterns, the Juguo ancient town in Rizhao, east China's Shandong Province, was full of festive atmosphere. Shehuo parade, a time-honored performance originating from ancient sacrificial activities to pray for a good harvest about 2,000 years ago, and singing and dancing performances won waves of applause from visitors. When the night fell, thousands of festival lanterns were lit up, turning the Shangrao Yungu Pastoral Ecological Town in east China's Jiangxi Province into a fancy wonderland. The Bailangtan tourist spot in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region specially built a food street offering local specialties to tourists from all over the country.
