Argentinian President Alberto Fernández recently said a unified currency is being explored between Argentina and Brazil and it's based on the current high inflation and "obsession with the U.S. dollar." The U.S. dollar hegemony has been causing the insolvency of Latin American countries, and a unified regional currency might be a way of gaining more currency sovereignty and fundamentally boosting the Latin American economy.
