Mating season has begun this year at Gold Harbour, a bay on the British Overseas Territory of South Georgia in the Atlantic Ocean. Male elephant seals were wrestling in the mud for the best spots on the beach where females come in and out of the water.

Male elephant seals have large noses resembling an elephant's trunk, hence the name.
