Hundreds of thousands joined a second wave of nationwide strikes over French President Emmanuel Macron's unpopular planned pension reforms on January 31. The reform intends to raise the retirement age for most people from 62 to 64. According to France's largest union, General Confederation of Labor, at least 500,000 people in Paris participated in the second demonstration.
