The U.S. House of Representatives voted Tuesday on party lines to end the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE), while President Joe Biden announced on Monday his administration would end the PHE along with a separate COVID national emergency in May, Politico reported.
The White House has strongly opposed the bill passed by the House of Representatives to end the public health emergency, as well as a separate resolution slated for floor consideration this week to end the national emergency.
An abrupt end to the emergency orders would "create wide-ranging chaos and uncertainty throughout the health care system," the administration said.
