A powerful earthquake that struck Türkiye on Monday has killed at least 284 people and injured more than 2,300 others in the country, Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay told a news conference.
He said 70 people were killed in the province of Kahramanmaras, where the epicenter was located, along with 20 in Osmaniye, 18 in Sanliurfa, 14 in Diyarbakir and 13 in Adiyaman.
