Russia's foreign minister Sergei Lavrov is in Mali for talks with its military leaders to strengthen defense ties. It's the first such visit by a Russian foreign minister to the west African nation and it's Lavrov's third trip to the continent since July. Zhang Xin from East China Normal University, says Lavrov's trip is part of Russia's further support for Africa to undermine western influence.
