The ruling Workers' Party of Korea of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) convened an enlarged meeting on Monday to discuss this year's military and political tasks and the long-term issues concerning the army building, the country's official news agency reported Tuesday.

The meeting of the Central Military Commission, presided over by Kim Jong Un, the party's general secretary and chairman of the State Affairs Commission, studied and discussed a series of military tasks.

Those tasks include improving military affairs by machinery, intensifying the operation and combat drills of the Korean People's Army (KPA), perfecting the preparedness for war and revising army regulations.

Relevant decisions were adopted on the meeting.
